In April 2008, Mara Faust, Deputy Attorney General, offered Dr. West a stipulated settlement that had to be approved by the California Medical Board. In the settlement all the accusations against Dr. West were dismissed INCLUDING the alledged dishonesty. Mara Faust presented the stipulated settlement offer before the board and argued that they should accept it. For political reasons the Medical Board rejected the settlement. It went to trial in late 2008. The Administrative Law Judge made a recommendation which the Medical Board rejected/non-adopted. The Medical Board revoked Dr. West’s license solely because they alledge Dr. West was dishonest to Medical Board Investigator Elizabeth Schlie in a 2007 interview about where he was going when he got a DUI in 2000.
